"In the past, when unemployment reached such levels, riots, revolutions and great social unrest have occurred. Thus, the rise of modern-day groups of Luddites (machine smashers) or the establishment of totalitarian states in some previously democratic countries are possibilities that cannot be completely dismissed. Passions could run very high during such dislocations, and racial, religious, or political scapegoats could once again be sought. These possibilities (and natural human resistance to change) might argue for a slow transition to complete automation, but the market forces demanding quick action may be too powerful to be tempered by anything short of total societal collapse."

It is very important that we change our societal operating system as soon as possible.
Technology and our present culture will not mix well in the future.
Our societal template is a throwback to the 17th century operating system.
The powers that be , which for the most part are brainwashed with the current belief system, think they are upholding the value`s of old , and doing their duty.
Problem is that they are ignorant as to the current situation. That threatens our survival.
When a political candidate stress`s how his dad went to the mill every day, worked like a dog for years, was able to put food on the table by much brutal activity, this example is held up as a value worth emulating.
That east coast politician is not a dumb person, He is an ignorant person. Politicians play on peoples fears, and backward notions.
John Edwards was trying to appeal to the concept of working class, middle class, etc.
The age for a class system is over. We , must change into a classless society.
By using money as a tool in a kind of carrot and stick approach, you can maintain the class/price system.
Changing to the type of system that was layed out by the Technocracy movement would be fairly easy to do from an introduction point of view as to incorporating the design of the Technate.
The other choices do not appear so good.
Besides doing things with technology (maybe selling some of it), I might also be involved in politics so at least someone in it will know what's going on.
