The mistake they made was sticking with the ruble. They kept a price system. Because of that they kept their class system. Also it insures that the whole thing would only be corrupt , as that is the nature of money, corrupting.
There is an old joke, what is the difference between Capitalism and Communism.? One is based on mans inhumanity to man, and the other is just the opposite.~ !
Both these systems are actually the same. Both are price systems. Both are failures in the prospect of having a good society.
